Fortress College

"The HEART of EDUCATION is the EDUCATION of the HEART" A Ministry of Asian Christian Outreach (ASCO)

                           Fortress College History

What is now known as Fortress College was founded on bended knees during a prayer meeting in 1980 at the Good Shepherd Church.  A small staff of Asian Christian Outreach (ASCO) led by Dr. Greg Tingson had gathered to discuss the thrusts of ASCO and a Kinder school was prayerfully considered.

The Kabankalan Kinder School opened in June 1981 with an enrollment of 110 pre-school pupils.  With the success of the Kinder School and the clamor of parents to offer Elementary, High School and non-formal  vocational education, Dr. Tingson shared the need with Christian friends.  With the generous support of ASCO friends such as Engineer Dick Clemins and other local and foreign friends, classrooms were constructed for Elementary and High School Departments and equipment provided for Todd Vocational School was provided.

In 1984, Fortress Academy applied for a DECS permit to open the Elementary and High School Departments.  The Todd Vocational School received recognition on 1986.

Fortress Academy was formally recognized as Fortress College in 1987.

Today, Fortress College has ministered to thousands of students.  The College Philosophy "The Heart of Education is the Educatio of the Heart " is evident in its programs and activities.

Fortress College is trully a result of Dr. Greg Tingson's vision to train and equip our young generation with a three-fold education:
The Education of the Head, Heart and the Hands.
